The power of nature and memory brings Julie Patey and Michelle Day together for the first time at the Newstead Railway Arts Hub in July. These two artists connected with each other’s artworks well before they met each other.
Opening: 2pm on Saturday 8th July, please join us for drinks and nibbles.
Where: 8a Tivey Street, Newstead
Exhibition will be open on weekends throughout July, 11am – 4pm.
Michelle Day uses imagery to evoke feelings through the many applied layers that are often scraped back to reveal those beneath, not unlike the actual landscape she portrays. The emotional bond that Michelle has with the land are all part of her work. Michelle has been part of group exhibitions in most Australian capital cities and has had numerous solo exhibitions in Sydney, Melbourne and country Victoria.
Julie Patey has a passion for colour within brooding darkness and landscape. The mood and texture are moments against the memory of the land. This exhibition will be a retrospetive of her art over the last 30 years featuring her epic pastel work that relect her responce to the environment of Port Phillip Bay and the vast space of the sky.
